Alyssa share with us her love story of how her and her partner met.
HOW DID YOU MEET YOUR PARTNER?
We grew up together so we have known of each other most of our lives. However, we didn’t get to know each other properly until we finished high school and started spending time together through mutual friends.
WHERE DID YOU GET MARRIED?
At the Craft and Co in Collingwood. It’s such a beautiful and cool venue. The team there are amazing too and really go above and beyond!
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF YOUR DAY?
There were so many special moments, but I have to say our ceremony was really touching. We were both hit by emotion as I walked down the aisle even though we had already spent time together having fun at our first look before the ceremony. We were married by Zee Scott and she crafted a really special ceremony. She is an amazing storyteller and the feeling in the room was magical.
WHICH BEC + BRIDGE DRESS DID YOU WEAR AND HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT IS WAS THE ONE FOR YOU?
I wore the Dreamer Plunge Dress. I had seen online that some other brides wore this dress for their wedding day and I loved it as soon as I saw it. I did go to a bridal store and tried on other gowns first just to have the experience and see if it was for me. Even though the dresses I tried on were stunning they didn’t feel like me. This was during 2021 in Melbourne so we were also in and out of lockdowns still. I thought why not purchase the Dreamer online and then if it didn’t feel like the one I could keep looking. But as soon as I tried it on, I knew it was the dress for me. It was modern and minimal and exactly what I was looking for.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ANY SOON-TO-BE BRIDE?
The planning process can be so stressful so ultimately I think it’s about just doing what you feel is right for you both and focusing on what is important to you. If you can, try to find wedding suppliers who you connect with. They really make a big difference on the day. I know we got very lucky to be surrounded by such warm and wonderful humans on our day.
